Any guest invited to the ABCHI Club event must be over 18 in order to attend.

Pre and post trip extensions are welcomed and encouraged. Please indicate upon registration if you wish to extend your stay.  We will research the best flight schedules and you will only pay the difference in fare of a return ticket cost at the time of booking. We encourage you to register early for the best flight options and fares. You will be responsible for transportation to/from the hotel to/from the airport if you are not arriving/departing on the group dates.

Note:  Only post stays are permitted at host hotel.  Should you wish to travel to Edinburgh prior to April 13th, you are welcome to stay at an alternate hotel and check-in to Virgin Hotel Edinburgh on April 13th.

It is your responsibility to ensure you have the appropriate documentation to enter Scotland and to return to Canada. If you do not have the proper identification necessary or if you are refused entry for any reason, A Buyer's Choice Home Inspections (ABCHI)  cannot be held responsible.  

Passports are mandatory for entry to Scotland. Canadian citizens who wish to apply for a passport can visit the following site for Canadian passport information.

Canadian Landed Immigrants will require a Permanent Resident Card to return to Canada on a commercial aircraft. For further information or an application, please contact 1-888-242-2100 or www.cic.gc.ca  

Please note the average high temperature in Edinburgh at the time of our ABCHI Club trip is 12°C and the average low is 5°C. There is a moderate amount of rainfall with 15 days of rain expected in the month of April.

The dress code for the ABCHI Club trip is generally casual comfort throughout the day. The Awards dinner will require appropriate attire.

• 4 nights accommodation based on double occupancy at Virgin Hotel Edinburgh

• Personal shopping or items of a personal nature (additional excursions and food and beverage not included in program inclusions)

• Activities and excursions not outlined in the trip itinerary
• Food and beverage outside of breakfast at the Virgin Hotel Edinburgh, Welcome Reception and Awards Dinner
• Car rental
• Extension arrangements
• Travel insurance of any kind, including medical and baggage
• Incidental expenses / personal gratuities
• Medical services
• Spa services
• Anything not specifically listed as an inclusion

Edinburgh, Scotland is on the British Summer Time zone (BST) at the time of the ABCHI trip.

A power adaptor will be required for Scotland (type G). However, there will be a Canadian adaptor in every room at the Virgin Hotel Edinburgh.

Local currency is the pound sterling (£). All major credit cards are widely accepted. Foreign currency can be exchanged at your local bank before the trip or at a local bank in Edinburgh.

Gratuities are included with any of the group events, however, should you wish to leave a tip for any service staff outside of group events, they are always greatly appreciated.

The hotel will maintain an incidental account to cover your personal expenses such as shop purchases, spa or salon services etc., which are not included in the program. Please make sure you settle this account prior to checking out. Major credit cards and cash are accepted forms of payment and a credit card imprint will be collected at check-in. Personal cheques will not be accepted.  

Insurance is not provided as part of the ABCHI Club trip but will be available for purchase if required. A minimum coverage of emergency medical out of country insurance is required for all participants. We highly recommend purchasing full trip interruption and cancellation insurance. Your insurance details will be collected as part of your registration. 

The ABCHI Club trip is non-refundable. If you must cancel up until the day of the trip for unforeseeable, extenuating circumstances, please contact Kelly MacDonald at 902-476-1404. You will be responsible for any non-refundable costs incurred by ABCHI for any award winner (and guest) initiated changes or cancellations after ABCHI Club registration.

The ABCHI Club trip trip must be accepted as offered, has no cash value and is valid only for the dates and location specified.  If you cannot attend, please advise as soon as possible, so it may be awarded to the next winner.
