The beautiful Palo Verde National Park consists of rivers, mangroves, marshlands, and seasonally flooded fields. It is one of the key wetlands of Central America, home to many resident and migratory waterfowl. You will travel on a 1.5-hour boat tour through the Tempisque River. The park provides the opportunity to take a closer look at nature, and observe a variety of birds, crocodiles, monkeys, and iguanas, while naturalist guides point out the characteristics of this ecosystem. You will also visit a traditional sugar mill and a Sabanero house on the property, where you are offered local specialties cooked in a clay oven. A traditional Costa Rican lunch will be served in the grand hacienda after the tour.
